I just read the first 3 posts on my blog and realized that i was sounding like the so called “elders” (who are actually 90-100 year old grannies) of India. Interesting I can -through my blog see myself 60 years later. 😛
So i decided to do this. Oh and yeah i just finished my 10th grade with 9.6 CGPA. And I spent the whole day yesterday calling up relatives of mine whom i don’t even know. 0_0 Just to tell my GP (grade point) . I seem to be very Jobless! Chocolates here i come!! *starts eating chocolates*
Right now i can think of a million things my mom says. But here is a collection of a few of things my parents say-

1) “Always be on your phone/laptop!! Don’t go out!!”
“Always be out only! Don’t come inside the house! Do me a favour- Sleep outside! ”

2) “Did you see how much Sharma ji’s son/daughter got?? and look at you! ” (yeah Indian parents aren’t happy even if you get 9.6 GP. Welcome to India where Sharma ji is a typical Indian relative/neighbor whose son/daughter is the same age as yours..always! not necessarily the name is Sharma..xD but its just an example here..  )

3) “Don’t care about your culture and traditions, roam around looking like some ‘gawaar‘ ” (That’s the term for illiterate. yeah.. 😛 )

4) “So what if his/her parents allow, i cant allow you to go out!” (Hanging out in India? yeah give the full details and bio-data of all the people who are coming, oh! do you even need details of the cleaner that’s going to be there in the malls? )

5) “Sleepover? Let me talk his/her mother” (they don’t trust you if you say its a sleepover…)

6) “Get me this! Don’t do that!!! Study something!! (even during vacations? -_- )

7) “Why do you want money! I just gave you yesterday! We don’t have a tree that grows money! (oh! i thought we do!! )

8) “DO ONE THING THERE IS A MONEY TREE OUT THERE GO AND PULL OUT HOW MUCH EVER YOU WANT! ”

Our parents are very sarcastic. They used sarcasm even before sarcasm was trending. #swag
But no matter what.. we still love our parents! ^_^ (Excluding the sarcasm, comparing, and other things.. ) we know its for the best but we expect lesser “Sharma ji” comparisons!
Thank you for reading through! keep smiling! :* 🙂
And do let me know how other parents around the world are!  😀
